About

As a professional software developer, I have been working with Software Technology for the past decade. During my career, I acquired skills in various technologies, including Web Development and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). I have been applying my web development skills throughout my career to build web features, web applications and websites.

 

My dual background in software development and forest conservation has given me both functional expertise in software technology and domain knowledge in conservation, enabling me to provide all the more effective software solutions through a deeper understanding of the purpose for which solutions are being provided. 

 

Nattoji Nature Web Solutions (NNWS) was started by me in February 2023 from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. My work since starting NNWS can be found here and the various services I provide are detailed here.

I graduated with a Master’s degree in Forest Conservation from the University of Toronto in 2016, where I took courses such as Applied Forest Ecology, Forest Conservation Biology and Urban Forest Conservation, finishing off with a Capstone Project in Forest Conservation.

During my Master’s studies, I learnt GIS and applied my GIS skills to create digital maps for a conservation area. In addition, I have ArcGIS Online Course Certification from ESRI Academy.

 

While we know it’s not possible to conserve nature without being out in the field, digitization has an equally important role in conservation. For example, an organization or a business with a well-built website has a far greater outreach compared to one without. Similarly, with the advancement in technologies like GIS, something that would have taken a long time to do on-field can be done in no time using the software, so that the time on-field can be better utilized for conservation. With cloud-based GIS mapping, the maps can even be embedded as user-interactive Apps on websites, making the maps and information more publicly available.

I strongly believe funding should not be a barrier for organizations or businesses contributing to the environmental cause. Hence as a non-profit, I provide all my services free of cost to you, to get your organization or business more digitized and have a greater impact on nature conservation.
